Lost loads of things
but the good thing about that is you're given a pleasant surprise when you find them again.

I used to run across a few banknotes stashed inside particular books, from where I'd hidden them and forgotten about them

it caused me a lot of grief
as a child. I'd get present-money, and either spend it like water or fold it into a book and lose it
