I like a good bass solo as much as the next man
in fact, probably more so, but it is fairly disheartening when all your audience does is shout for them, rather than acknowledge that you've just finished a song as a band.

It'd make me slightly happier if people asked for more guitar solos, but I don't think I could fit any more in.

There comes a point where you have to just tell the crowd to fuck off
Give him a song with a dedicated bass solo in it, then when they beg for another you can say he's already had one and that will be all, thank you very much.
