Does "Blackpool" count?
Not exactly a drama but it was superb.

The follow-up on BBC4 recently was even better.

Cracking
David Morrisey, David Tennant, Ralph Little - some others.

It was a sort of musical comedy about Blackpool. There was a serious storyline behind it but every so often the characters would burst into song.

Difficult to describe but worth looking up.
