OK, so it's quite hard to watch any of his films right throughbut the man himself was both a comedy natural and a true gent.
Not much comedy outlives its era, but Norman's was right for its time and captures much of what was both good and bad about Britain in the 1960s.
My daughter got me a box set of his films for my christmas last year. Might watch one tonight.
