The comedy value might have stopped his carers from helping him.

Not knowing what the fuck is going on. Hopefully I will have 6 months of dementia & morphine before shuffling off this mortal coil. Or maybe just the morphine.

I had no idea as to his state of health prior to his death.
I won't delete or edit my comment as it'll make you calling me insensitive weird if I change it.

Unless someone on a website is in some way related/knew the person who died I fail to see what's wrong with joking about that sort of thing. Unless a comment is way out of line. What I don't understand is on some boards I go on when someone dies and they're all posting condolences. What's that all about?

I was joshin as well.
I like seeing how often I can get people to apologise to me. It's quite an evil game really....

I challenge anyone here to sit through a Norman Wisdom film, of their choice, and say they enjoyed it at the end.
I'd rather have a soldering iron pushed through my eyeballs. His humour has not kept well, like many comedians. Fine when we were kids, but now? Come on people.

and he copied his act from Lee Evans.
The only thing he ever did of note was a (shit) mid-60s film called 'What's Good for the Goose' (or similar) which features one of my favourite all time bands, The Pretty Things.

but the man himself was both a comedy natural and a true gent.
Not much comedy outlives its era, but Norman's was right for its time and captures much of what was both good and bad about Britain in the 1960s.
My daughter got me a box set of his films for my christmas last year. Might watch one tonight.
