If Monty can't see the point - it must be good
Anything can be art. If it makes people looking at it/experiencing it think, then it has achieved its purpose.

If it is aethetically pleasing as well, then that's a bonus. You don't have to like it, you don't have to like the artist. They may well be trying it on, they may well be a talentless tosser, but good luck to them; would you rather be doing what they are? Probably not.

Leave them alone, they're harmless.

And I quite like they way it's a really crap chair, on top of a patched together stool. To me, it says: Stool (also the word for a poo) is a chair with no back; reminds me of chemistry lessons at school and sitting at the bar or in the kitchen. There's a funny old chair on top of it; why? It looks a bit crooked, a bit drunk. Oh, it's a chair, sitting on a stool - because a chair couldn't sit on a chair could it? etc etc.
