Slating: Yesterday afternoon, talking to supervisor and realising that things are actually going to take a lot longer to finish than I thought. It looks ever more like I'm going to be stuck here until the end of fucking March.

'Here' is the university in which I've now been enrolled for seven years.
I have never needed a "change of scenery" quite so badly.

Saturday's gig is in Brixton, at the Ritzy (or possibly the caf&eaccent; just above it, I'm running on minimal information as usual, but have been reassured I only need to bring my smaller amp...)

Can't you ask for a few months working on another uni?
Several friends of mine did that, some of them got to go to Sunderland, some of them to Houston, you just have to find a lab or university that has knowledge on what you're doing and get some funding for the travel, but your scholarship (assuming you have one) should be fine for that.

With only five months to go, the best I can hope for is that I can finish with the data and spend most of my remaining time writing up at home.
