This is going to be disgusting
A friend of mine had pneumonia for a long time, and was in hospital for months. When she finally recovered, she was looking forward to go out and have fun, but first weekend, she got tonsilites, with all those white scabs that form in your throat and hurt like hell everytime you breath.

She wasn't going to be taken down, so she picked a fork and stabbed the scabs and tear and pluck them out. She did a lot of bleeding, but after a few alcoholic drinks, she was very well, and hasn't had tonsilites again.

I have pulled out tonsil stones from their holes before now
but they're small and soft and don't really hurt

I think I had one of them.
My doctor, knocked it off with a lolly stick, I choked and produced it on the tip of my tounge. It was grey if I remember correctly.

yeah that's them
When I had them as a kid i assumed that my throat was sprouting teeth.
You can buy water jets to clear them out without poking at yourself.

Whooooaaa there nelly.
Are you saying that we have 'tonsil holes' where stones accumulate - and these can be hosed out?
This is all new to me.

Yup
Some people don't but if you're prone to tonsil problems then aye.

You're disgusting too
Really, it doesn't hurt? But if just openning your mouth hurts when you have them.

yeah
When you're brushing your teeth, push the brush slightly further back on your tongue than you're confortable with, and hold it there until you feel a retch coming on. Do a tiny retch then stop. Just keep increasing it until you can do that without retching (about a week). Just keep up that process until you can poke the toothbrush about there without gagging. Could take weeks.
If taken by surprise your gag reflex will probably always be there, but with a couple of deep breaths and a mental prep, you'll be able to swallow lamp-posts before you know it.

Hahahaha!
I am so doing this.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 12:53, Reply)
bear in mind I am a former bulimic
so the toothbrush used to be able to make me heave at the merest tickle.
If I can reverse this process then anyone can do this!
I'm not a mental. I was young and foolish and I caught it off my mother. I am a food-lover again now and it always stays down.
