Academia is a good gig if you can get it(in biological sciences, anyway, I can't speak for physics) Sadly I think there will be a lot of us looking elsewhere in the next few years. There aren't even any jobs in the NHS ffs.

I'm playing bass for a feller called Sonny B WalkerBlues singer, and a very lively frontman. He's also got this rather promising young chap on guitar who I met briefly last night.
