If you've not settled with the insurance company
Then check with them they don't want the bike for salvage. A lot of motor-insurance companies have arrangements where all scrap cars/bikes are sold to breakers for a fee, meaning they get a bit of cash back.

They've already made me a salvage offer (where I keep the bike), which I've accepted.
We're just debating the total value. I think it's more, the engineer agrees, just got to get the insurer to (grudgingly) agree...
