Don't come between late May and late SeptemberThe midgies are fucking relentless and will easily spoil your whole holiday. April and May are usually the best months, nice fresh weather and zero midgies.

A nice treatis also the fact that due to being further north, you get much lighter nights and the light fades a lot slower than it does say in Cornwall, so you get all these amazing hues and tones. In fact, even here in Glasgow around Midsummer, it doesn't get completely dark.
