I liked the comic more, but I've had this discussion with a lot of people already and we never agree, so... ok.

I love Alan Moore. It was just by chance that I get to read any of his books, as with Neil Gaiman. Because their books can lose a lot with the translation, they're not very famouns. And, tbh, before coming to England only my brother shared my passion for graphic novels, my friends thought I was weird.

Both Moore and Gaiman are very good indeed. I love graphic novels, tried to get Em to read a few but she was having none of it.

I tried to convince my friends
I started with something easy, no graphic novel, but fantasy anyway. I passed them Neverwhere, saying that it was a great book that they'd love, but I couldn't tell them what it was about or it'd be spoiled.

They loved it (ovbiously); but after that I tried to pass them something with drawings on it, and they wouldn't read it, as it was for kids.

Bah.

A good chunk of my graphic novels are rather... graphic
So won't be mistaken for kid's books. I'm thinking Preacher, Transmetropolitan, The Boys, The Authority etc.

Yes, it didn't matter with them
Sandman can be quite graphic, as well as Sin City. It didn't matter: cartoons = kids.

Ah yes, Sin City, knew I was forgetting a chunk of my collection
I hate that naive view, but then I write off Twilight and Harry Potter as kid's books.

At least about Harry Potter. The first one is for kids, true, but then the books grow with Harry, and it's very interesting to see how it gets darker and darker.

I watched the first film
And was just annoyed by it all. I may get around to watching the others at some point, but they're a LONG way down on my list of priorities.
