oh christmaybe i should just accept that i am lucky to have got to my age without anything worse than a brace, then.

While trying to avoid the dentist, I used to use clove oil.The pain was so intense, I had three or four cotton buds sticking out of my mouth each releiving a different pain centre.
It really isn't worth it.
