Well, that's actually a hard question. It's sort of all and none.
You could probably read them to your daughter now as very simple stories as they have naive charm (as do the illustrations. Then later she could read them as little morality tales. And they can be revisited as she comes to appreciate that wavering between naive and knowing that features in much of his humour.
