Good point about number 9
Though politicians should be made to stick to their election promises rather than buffeting about on the slightest breath of change. I mean he could at least stick to his own party's political views...
And as to point 6, I completely back this idea. I'm a professional engineer with a decent background in computers/programming and I still can't fathom some of the crap instructions you get. Then again, with a bit of streamlining and standardising (say, everyone use .rpms to install software unless they explicitly don't want to or software writers assume that the user's using a certain distro and other distros have to adapt round this) then Linux could really take off. Certainly Ubuntu and the like are there for day-to-day using-at-work for the majority of people. You've got an MS Word-compatible text editor, Excel-compatible spreadsheet app, web browser, VOIP/IM if you're allowed to use it, and a familiarish interface. Plus its available pretty cheaply for commercial use.
*hopes he doesn't sound like a fanboi. It's just intended as an appraisal based on my humble nerdy opinion*
