This is a question Pet Peeves

What makes you angry? Get it off your chest so we can laugh at your impotent rage.

People who say:
"It's only a game" when talking about football. Especially when we've just lost.

Someone said "football is more important than life and death to you" and I said "Listen, it's more important than that."

That person was right,
Football is only a game. Now, I'm not criticising anyone who enjoys watching/playing footie. That's your choice as much as it is mine to not enjoy/watch it. But there's a lot more to life than the results of a match you didn't participate in as more than a spectator/placed a bet on the outcome. If you were playing on the pitch then yes I could understand why it might be upsetting to lose.

I love football..
i love the drama, the goals, the play.

I love watching England.

I watch MOTD every saturday. i watch all the champions league games, and strangley like to see the local teams do well. i.e. Liverpool, Everton and Tranmere. I actually 'support' united, and would rather them win should they come up against any of the afformatentioned teams.

-BUT-

I totally do not get the 'live for football' thing.

If your team looses - its nothing to go and hang yourself for... its JUST A GAME.

i admit when england went out last time, i felt sad for like 10 minutes, then felt better again. But I was then stuck with 100 fans in a pub all looking for a fight, becuase of football. WHY OH WHY!!!!
