This is a question Pet Peeves

What makes you angry? Get it off your chest so we can laugh at your impotent rage.

FAO people from the West Country
Where is it?

Not a particularly hard question to ask, you may think. Not for those from the West.

"where's it to?" Is not a sentence! I want to stab you for your illiteracy and incoherence!

"Far ezet?" - where is it?

"Far you fey?" - Where are you from?

"Fits ee deein?" - what is he doing?

"Fit like?" - how are you

Took me ages to speak to anyone there.

Glaswegians
(or the thick ones) like to add a superfluous "but" to the end of every sentence.

Example:

"Ah wiz late fur work this mornin, but"

But what, you imbecile?

What's wrong
With saying "where's"? Its a contraction (or concationation, I forget the correct term) of the words "where" and "is". You get "where's" much like "what's", "you'd", "can't" etc.

Teran
Absolutely nothing.

It's the addition of the rogue preposition that causes the irk.

Teran...
That's not the part of the phrase that annoys me. it's the "to".

it has no reason to be there. I don't mind abbreviation, but don't randomly add words that don't belong.

I once asked a Bristolian to explain why the word "to" goes there. The answer was the most incoherent babble ever spewed from a human mouth.

Ah I see,
I made the mistake of reading the "where's it to?" example as like the people in the post office say when they can't be bothered to read the address written on a package.

Fuck off!
Where to?
Somewhere far away from the West Country I hope.
