This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

Since I joined b3ta
I have developed an irrational fear of actually doing any work.

Damn you, b3ta!

*Shakes fist*

it's okay
I think that's natural.

Have I mentioned how I hate my job today? Oh yes, I have. Thank you, b3ta, for stopping me from going postal.

Irrational?
Nope, sign of a well-adjusted and stable slacker.

Quack.

I don't have teh fear
as I know it will be realised each and every day that I have internet access. I can't fear that which I know to be true - I will never get any work done.

On the other hand, at least they can't sack me - I'm self-employed.

@Davros' Grandad
I'm with you on that - was placing an order last week while reading B3ta and screwed it up, costing the company a grand. Women were right all along, we can't multitask.

The right honourable crackhouseceilidhband
I have indeed read your comments that you hate your job today... and can totally sympathise having been stuck in a 'career' for longer than I'd wanted / anticipated before finally making the leap...

The trouble with regular employment is it becomes too 'safe' and familiar. And then you slowly start to lose your mind as you realise that the longer you stay there, the less likely it is that you will escape.

That's probably not helping is it? Sorry...

it's a whole barrel of trauma
and it's a pity there's no money in full-time b3ta participation.

If I could channel all my current stress into a financial venture I would use the proceedings to take you all to Vegas for a party.

I don't fear work....
I fear not being able to do my work fast enough to spend time on here. I actually came into work last Saturday because I'd spent too much time Friday afternoon chatting on here and didn't do a damn thing. Supplier payments had to be out early this week. Oooops!

sounds totally rational
I have always had the same thing, but it took b3ta to make me realise that this is normal and that just because I can be fired for it, doesnt make it wrong.....erm?

The thing is
I actually quite enjoy my job, so I feel really guilty about not doing it. Sometimes.

Ironically I worked from home on Friday and got about 4 times more done in a shorter space of time than I would have if I'd been in the office.

But Ancrenne...
You'll soon have pants to worry about....

Ancrenne
Funding from where? (Professional curiosity, since I'm in that line of work anyway).
