and am frequently mistaken for a Crystal. It's not nice to be misunderstood, far less when the new replacement name carries the connotations that that one does.

Crystal is popular name in china (or rather, the equivalent chinese which is romanised if they interact with westerners is popular, but meh), or so I've heard. How intelligence skews for them i do not know though.
