This is a question Professions I Hate

It took me a while to get over my dislike of teachers
I was a reasonably well-behaved schoolchild, did my homework, never stabbed anyone, yet my schooldays seemed to be full of shouting teachers. Endless shouting, shouting during lessons, shouting while walking down corridors, shouting while waiting for the bus…I guess the main point that I’m trying to drive home here is that I was unnecessarily shouted at a lot.

Yet every teacher I have met as an adult has been really nice, often the life of the party. I always find it hard to reconcile them with the shouty arseholes I remember from days of yore. Even so, when someone tells me that they are a teacher I get this involuntary urge to say “…oh…”

One sweet old lady called me a "Bloodsucker" when she found out my profession
I had known her a few years because she lives in my village. She hasn't spoken to me since.

harry potter/sookie stackhouse-ish about this

"Allroight moi luvver!"
but in all seriousness, I know nothing about the Trueblood series, it has completely passed me by. I think it may be banned in Somerset under witchcraft laws.

Well,
I'm a teacher.

I bet you're a lovely teacher
the teacher below this comment probably spends her evenings clutching a wine glass looking in the mirror and asking herself where it all went wrong

I'm a teacher. I'm the life and soul of parties. It's due to my years as a debauched drug-fiend bar manager before becoming a teacher. I Shout at children because it is fun and some of them are cunts, it's a little like acting.

I'm a teacher,
never once have I raised my voice to a kid. If I'm completely composed it scares the shit out of the troublesome ones. In all seriousness, I've only met one kid who I couldn't see the good in, such is life, there's always one or two. As for the shouty bastard teachers, they're the reason I became a teacher. One more of my type means one less of them.

I'm a teacher too!
I, too, rarely raise my voice. The only reason to do so is to prevent an accident or to prevent a deliberate act of unkidness.

Loud teachers = loud children. Loud children = Noisy classes. Noisy classes = no learning going on.

DON'T SHOUT AT CHILDREN!

There. does that have the correct effect on you all?

Thank you.
