This is a question Protest!

Sit-ins. Walk-outs. Smashing up the headquarters of a major political party. Chaining yourself to the railings outside your local sweet shop because they changed Marathons to Snickers. How have you stuck it to The Man?

Rage
Simon Cowell doesn't own the rights to any Rage Against the Machine song - no more than he does any Iron Maiden song, so I'm not sure where you go that from.

I think the campaign was more against bubble-gum, manufactured music than about how much money Simon Cowell makes or doesn't make.

*shrugs*
that's what I heard, you're probably right though...

The RATM recording was on the Epic label, which is owned by Sony.
Cowell owns a certain amount of Sony stock.

Or something like that. Anyway, it all lined his pockets.

He
sold his record company to Sony - which is where everyone gets the association from.
He wouldn't have profited from any sales of Rage after this event, as he had nothing to do with Sony from that point, apart from a contract of employment.

My mistake.
Still, hardly subverting the might of the music industry by giving Sony all our money, are we?

Right, I'm off to play my PS3 on my Bravia TV, while texting people on my Xperia and playing some music through a Walkman!
