Pubs
Jeccy writes, "I've seen people having four-somes, fights involving spastics and genuine retarded people doing karaoke, all thanks to the invention of the common pub."
What's happened in your local then?

A man on his own, in a pub, is a beautiful thing. He can come in, purchase a pint, sit down, read the paper, watch the Telly, chat with the regulars, the staff, the landlord, relax, put his feet up, watch the world go by. Its a beautiful, beautiful thing.
A woman on her own in the pub is a whore.

aargh
I hate the whole lone old man in the pub thing - most give you there whole sad life story of how they messed up and never got married. Or there are those whose sit you apparently are sat in, so when you get up to go to the loo, despite all your friends still being there, they'll just sit there quietly drinking their pint.
In Pavs in Reading there's always the same old guy on a Monday night, when no one else is less than 25 giving me his whole life story at the bar, then coming to join your table, complaining how he never gets served at that part of the bar, but then I get served immediately.
What is it with men going to pubs on their own? I could never do that, I could never go to the cinema or for a meal on my own.

Men in pubs alone
I dunno that I'd do it of an evening but most Sunday's I go down the pub for a roast dinner, and take my book. I'll quite happily go out for a curry on my own if I fancy one, too.
