I've started letting bus drivers pull out more oftenbecause it pleases me for them to stick their arm rigidly out of the window and give me a thumbs up.

I make eye contact with ambulance drivers on emergency callsThey usually have a look of intense concentration on their faces, presumably through trying to avoid all the numpties who freeze on the spot when confronted by a reflective yellow van with a siren and some flashing lights. I don't get mesmerised by the blues'n'twos, instead I stop/make room/speed up out of their way and I always get a wave of thanks.
