This is a question Money-saving tips

I'm broke, you're broke, we're all broke. Even the smug guy on the balcony with the croissant hasn't got two AmEx gold cards to rub together these days. Tell everybody your schemes to save cash.

Along similar lines a lot of people in Scandinavia seem to use "snuss".
But it's not snuff at all, but tea bag-like pouches which are hekd between the cheeks and teeth -- verry odd to me.

What you're describing here ...
sound suspiciously like Skoal Bandits which we're banned here at some point in the past which I CBA looking up.

It is, thanks.
I wondered what it was and almost asked to try some. Sounds like pretty nasty stuff though.

It's the one EU exemption
to the ban on chewing tobacco, on the basis that snüss is marginally less harmful than the cigs. 'kin horrible, mind.

As far as studies indicate
snus fares far better than marginally less harmful. Off the top of my head, I recall it slightly increases your risk of developing pancreatic cancer, and can cause blood pressure issues. There was a study done across Scandinavia over an extended period of time, and they found one instance of oral cancer linked to it out of a sample size of thousands. That was part of the basis for changing the required warning labels to the less menacing, "This tobacco product can damage your health and lead to addiction," or however you'd like to translate the Swedish. I'd take my chances with that over smoking. Also, there are a number of exemptions to chewing tobacco in the EU in regions with historical use. Pigtail twists are still sold in a number of countries, along with things like Oliver Twist. As far as I know, the ban only generally applies to all EU states for snus (with the exception of Sweden, who're are constantly bitching about it) and American style products like dip. Apologies for my tobacco geekery.

Hurrah for snobbery!
And snus is disgusting.. It may make you smell a bit better than the average smoker, but it will also make you look like a demented hamster/mong (it's usually placed under the top lip) and possibly ruin your teeth if you don't use 'portion snus'.

My father in law uses the stuff, grim. And, to cap it all, if it gets put into a glass after use then you just have to throw away the glass. Epic ruin, all your future beverages in that glass will taste like fermented arse.
