This is a question Money-saving tips

I'm broke, you're broke, we're all broke. Even the smug guy on the balcony with the croissant hasn't got two AmEx gold cards to rub together these days. Tell everybody your schemes to save cash.

This is a great way
to keep the riff-raff out of Waitrose.

I went to Waitrose
yesterday, and bought a 1.5kg bag of strong white bread flour, and a packet of yeast.

Total £1.88

This enabled me and my daughter to bake a huge loaf of bread, using less than half of the ingredients we bought. We all sat and watched the X-factor munching on it.

So, Waitrose. Fuck you and your rich patrons. I was in there saving money yesterday. Hahahaha.

Tesco
Has 3 for 2 on strong white bread flour, it's 1.24 for 4.5Kg.
Or 1.24 - it's the same 3 for 2 - for 3Kg, and some yeast.

Also - if you make bread regularly - there is no need to buy yeast.
Simply keep some of the mixed dough in the fridge, and it will grow its own yeast.
Just google sourdough.

Top tip.
Thanks.

OTOH, yeast for 7 loves is about 60p, so not too bothered.

Will bag some flour. You just ruined my 'fuck Waitrose' post, seems I spent far more than necessary.

I'd be quite happy to know that "bread and x factor"
was what convicts were being subjected to. Sounds miserable.

Well, true - I wouldn't actually choose the
X-factor, but we have a toddler, Saturday nights out are all but impossible. Anyway, Mrs and the 7 year old outvote me.

The bread though, that was delicious. If they get that in prison, I'm going to write to the Times.

Your wife has ruined your children.
I wasted a large chunk of my weekend, watching Lego Star Wars with my nippers.

I'm no good at making anything involving dough (warm hands) so, if we do have homemade bread, it's at the hands of either the missus, or her dad - he's retired, so can easily afford the time required (the rest of us, not so much).
