Some cars run fine on veggie oil some don't. It's often down to the fuel pump seals.
Anyway veggie oil can pick up a lot of sludge and flaky bits in the fuel tank and so the fuel filter should be changed more often.
My old Land Rover had a 300TDI engine and was run on 50/50 veggie oil for many years without any problems.
