Self-Inflicted injuries
Spanishfly asks: Ever injured yourself in a moment of frustration? When have you ever done something stupid or sensible that has ended up with you injured? Punched an Asda sign because they didn't have tiger bread? Yeah, us too
This isn't a question about intentional self-harm

Self
A well known intellectual and author of several popular novels once reversed his car into me. As I lay broken on the floor in a puddle of my own vomit, I remember thinking "if only there was a way I could work this story into a torturous pun for QOTW..."
But nothing came to mind.

You mean Will Self, it's just that you said several POPULAR novels.

Glad someone stepped in there.
Surely he's better known for trespassing and getting upset about being a nonce.

Is that a spoof news site,
or is Will Self even more of a prick than I already believed?

I heard him rambling (pun intended) on about this experience on R4 and then I believe on
BBC Breakfast. I don't think it underscores his prickishness but this is a story up there with, "Chip Pan Fire, 2 Fire Units attend. Not much damage."
ps. I like Will Self, I am doubting that his novels are popular.

has Arthur Smith been critical of Will Self? I belived they work together.
Because other than that you really could not prefer them, unless Tim Minchin can be preferred to Dame Edna.

I can't stand Will Self.
Mostly on account of him being a shit author, but also because he's a self*-important knob.
*a-ha-ha-ha

It was Paulo Cuelho
... who has a wonderful, lyrically poetic name. Unless you speak Portuguese, in which case he's called Paul Rabbit.
