a story went round our schoolthat it happened, but by accident. nothing had seemed out of the ordinary at the time, but when the lights were turned on afterwards, it transpired that Something Had Happened. he saw himself in the mirror with blood all over his face, and then saw her in the bed, also covered in blood, perhaps wondered if he'd gone too far, and fainted.
