Personally, last month a scantily clad young woman confused me with her fiance, with whom I share a first and last name. I'm still not sure she's noticed, but she's going to be mortified when she does.

My real offline name is almost the sameand a lot of people subsequently mispronounced my name. Just before the incident, I was made redundant, and while applying for jobs that I was suitably qualified for, I was not getting invited to interviews.
