This is a question Social Networking Gaffes

Freddy Woo writes, "My school bully just friended me on Facebook!" No doubt he pokes him, and then demands his lunch money.

Personally, last month a scantily clad young woman confused me with her fiance, with whom I share a first and last name. I'm still not sure she's noticed, but she's going to be mortified when she does.

What's the biggest mistake you've made using a social networking site?

I don't need Facebook friends
I have real-life friends. I have a real-life friend with over 700 e-friends, and I always ask him, "How many of those 700 odd could you phone for help if you needed it?"

The answer he usually gives is about five. Yet when I ask him why he has so many e-friends, it's to keep in contact with them. I don't understand.

Don't worry, you're probably just old.
Friends I could phone for help are in my phone book. People I may want to keep track of, see occasionally or want/need to contact en masse are on facebook along with the phonebook friends. After attending 3 schools and currently being at university, facebook makes life a hell of a lot easier
