Amazing displays of ignorance
Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

One of my colleagues who we shall call Dan for that is his name
used a hacksaw to cut another indent in a piece of RAM so it would fit in a different RAM slot in a PC. We told him it wouldn't work and he replied "Why wouldn't it?"
He's an IT Technician working at the home of the largest computer network in the South West.

Basically there are different types of RAM that fit in different slots
This was the wrong type so he made it fit. With a hacksaw. In doing so he rendered the RAM useless and it wouldn't have worked even if he didn't destroy it in the process.

You don't see what's wrong with taking a hacksaw to a piece of computer innards?

my brother once smugly told me
"I'm getting a new computer at work"
"what happened to the old one?" I asked
"it blew up"
"and why was that?"
"it was making a rattling noise so I stuck a paper clip in the back"
Through further questioning I established that it was the power supply into which he had thrust the paperclip

If he worked for me
he would be needing a new job not a new computer.
