This is a question Amazing displays of ignorance

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

Rafa Benitez
After the defaet to Merchandise United on Sunday, says "This game will show that we are strong. We can score goals in any stadium. We can beat anyone"

Errr, "beat anyone"? Didn't you just lose the game Rafa?

"Can" doesn't equal "will"
Also you should remember that English isn't his first language.

that doesn't make a difference
can and will in Spanish are completely unalike - it's imposible to confuse the two.

(can being a verb on it's own, will (future) is a verb form)

I don't think he was confusing the Spanish meanings, as he is Spanish...
However, in English, can and will are, to a degree, interchangeable. This can trick foreigners.

Two seperate points,
I made.
Hence the use of the word 'also'.

You say potato I say chips...
It isn't whether the linguistic variances between future, present and past participles or indeed latinate and latin-germanic bastard languages causes the problem that is the issue it is more to do with the fact that the red-faced, bearded goat bummer, his book of outlandish excuses and conspiracy theories and his team of petulant thuggish school children got beaten by a fairly mediocre Man U team. I found that quite rewarding and I don't particularly like the others much either.

Or perhaps
It was a case of "We can beat anybody but we chose not to so there!"
