If someone said to me 'You are fat', I would agree and wouldn't take offence. It's simply a statement, same as saying I had green eyes or red hair would be.
If someone was abusive...say screaming 'you fat cunt' out at me in the street, THEN I would get offended. Because they are using it in an offensive context, and deserve to get fucked up the arse with a rusty shovel.
