I did that and felt guilty about it.Rather than being addressed to the occupier, the RSPCA (A charity which I do support by the way) begging letter was addressed "To someone who cares about animals."
I wrote "Not known at address" across the window in the envelope and popped it into the postbox.
Hopefully someone had a chuckle at that one.
