Stick(y)ing to the man
I was diagnosed with type II diabetes a few years ago, and mostly I behave myself around booze and sugar, but today is my colleagues birthday and he has brought in Krispy Kreme donuts! I have had 2 already so "fuck you Doctors"*
*I promise not to have any more for another 6 months :-)

when all's said and done,
im sure they couldn't really care less if you want to live your life the way you do, they're not your mother, and their job isn't to judge you but to try and make you right again when you go wrong. if you want to have donuts (ugh, merkin spelling) every day and make yourself really ill, the worst that will happen is you die and they will go home and say to themselves "we did everything we could, considering they weren't helping themselves" before cracking open a beer and forgetting about the shit day when the diabetic who ate copious amounts of sugar died in their care ...
in short, really you are sticking it to yourself and no one else :))
ps i know you said this was just a one-off and i went and exaggerated it. but it was a poor effort at sticking it to the man.

cheer up
I have the utmost respect for all medical staff, and this comment was merely for comedy purposes. As a diabetic I am well aware of the consequences of not looking after myself as it is an insidious disease that will in all probability shorten my life anyway. I do excercise control of my diet and alcohol intake but I am not a saint. I am happy with that, but thanks for your comment anyway.
cheers
