This is a question Thrown away: The stuff you loved and lost.

Smash Wogan writes, "we all love our Mums, but we all know that Mums can be cunts, throwing out our carefully hoarded crap that we know is going to be worth millions some day."

What priceless junk have you lost because someone just threw it out?

Zero points for "all my porn". Unless it was particularly good porn...

Tenuous
.
Seeing that this is about things you've loved and lost (I'm ignoring the thrown away bit) I'll tell you what I've lost. And I didn't know I loved it until too late.

Since moving here to Oz I've had to put up with Oz TV. It's fucking dire. It's like wall-to-wall UK Gold without the good bits. And, even more a bitch, is that all the great Australian fishing programs that I used to watch in the UK aren't even show over here. The BASTARDS! No wonder it's a bloody penal colony.

Oh. And it gets cold over here. Didn't expect that.

So the thing I've loved and lost is good old British telly.

Cheers

Thank God that B3ta's international

Sir...

How long have you been in Oz now? A year?

Believe me, British TV has taken such a major nosedive into the turd-strewn depths of mediocrity and supreme dullness that you're not missing anything mate.

Mind you...what's the beer like over there? Do they still drink VB like the veritable rats piss it is?

*pretends than he even drinks lager*

Zatoo
is a steaming pile of dogshit.

Zattoo is currently available in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK. We’ll be launching in new countries and continents soon, so check back frequently.

And it's almost a year now. Doesn't time fly.

And I actually like VB. To be honest, I've liked every beer I've sampled over here

Aussie telly
Come on, it's not so bad. Right now, 9.50pm Aussie time, the choice includes: Cold Case, Frasier, Mitchell & Webb, Nip/ Tuck, the Olympics, The Simpsons, House, South Park, Law & Order, Hell's Kitchen, Heroes, My Name is Earl, The Apprentice, The Daily Show, 11 movie channels, 12 sports channels and a bunch of nazi/ hitler/ tornado/ shark documentary channels.
Stop being a whingeing pom!

Err
I rest my case.

A bunch of USA and UK repeats and err - that's it.

And where's these documentary and movie channels of which you speak?

VB is okay
but Coopers sparkling pale ale (the red one not the green one) is where it's at.

Mmmmmmm.

Crickey Mate!
So it hasn't changed since I lived there in the 80's then?

Back then it was piss-poor yank stuff and even worse British stuff. Think Young Ones (yeah, I viewed it through rose tinted glasses too until I got older and saw it again), 'Just good friends' etc...

...and that was on ABC with no adverts.

Don't even get me started with the amount of ads. Mind you, it's pretty much the same in the UK now I imagine.

Crikey mate! Did you see any stingrays?

Oz TV...
...truly, truly shite.
I've been here 20 years and Oz TV really is depressingly and utterly, utterly shite.
Even the cable TV is shite - I only stick with it for the Disney channel for my daughter.
