Hmm, you may be right there Vag, now I think about it...
I was on the last train home last night, listening to some student chap trying to pretend he wasn't chatting up a girl from his group he'd luckily found himself alone on the train home with. He was trying to be as enthusiastic as possible, all "literally" this and "awesome" that and "isn't uni literally fucking awesome" the other. I was trying not to giggle too loudly, but then nearly fell off my seat after they established they each lived 10 mins in oposite directions from the station and he super-casually asked her not once, but twice if she "needed any help getting home" - no response, LITERALLY just awkward silence.
