On the Southend line the buggers stole the cable near Shenfield one evening.

It was repaired, but by the time the trains reached Wickford, they'd taken the cable from there, so we stopped again.

That was replaced, but my wife, only an hour behind me, got held up at Shenfield.

The bastards had taken it from there again.

(a solicitor friend dealt with the case. Unfortunately the death penalty wasn't applied).
