The best ever response I've seen to door-to-doors was a guy I used to get about with.
Forget your "Oh I worship Satan" nonsense. The conversation went as follows:

"Hello there! I'm here to tell you about the good news!"

"What's that, then?"

"About our Lord Jesus Christ!"

"Nah he doesn't live here, mate - we're just tennents."

"No - our Lord - Jesus Christ."

"Nah - like I said - we just rent. He's off in Spain somewhere."

"No - Jesus Christ."

"No one here by that name - wrong house, maybe?"

"No - our lord is Jesus Christ."

"No - it's Spelikinos."

"No - our lord - Jesus Christ."

"I've TOLD you - he doesn't live here ... !"

For about 20 minutes, half an hour, he denied all knowledge of Christ, Christianity, and religion. It was marvellous.
