I'd forgotten what a sadsack he was until he was on some bbc 2 documentary the other week detailing how Suede blew all the rock dinosaurs away at the Brits in 93 with Animal Nitrate. Hahaha, I actually turned down a mate's spare Suede ticket this weekend
and much of our conversation was about how incredibly overhyped they were at the time - the press releases ahead of Dog Man Star alone were masterpieces of gushing hyperbole about how it was going to be "a phenomenal record, like no-one's ever heard before" rather than "just another self-indulgent, wanky indie album"
