That said I think anyone who suggests that religion should have any bearing on governmental policy should be treated like the feeble-minded, thoughtless fools they are and just pitied and have their heads patted with a "there there" or two.

Yeah he was born here
and he used to be a porn-loving, beer swilling, lsd swallowing fun guy. Now his religion has gotten the better of him, he's accusing the rest of the country of being materialistic, un-godly swine.
Thankfully he's hated by the muslim community too.
