
I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.

and the nugget of humor about that was the fact that the Icelandic govt had a vote (referendum) on whether they should pay back the money. In effect this is like asking al Qaeda to cast a vote on whether they should pay back reparations for 911. I think only 3% of Icelandics said yes.
