I know a bitI used to work with a couple of Russians and they taught me all the basics, the numbers, hello, how are you, I'm good/bad/so so etc it's not actually that difficult, untill you come to write it down and realise all their letters are different, and pronounced differently, so I just stook to vocal Russian, and wrote them down in english phonetics for myself haha
