This is a question Things to do before you die

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us that his ambition is to a) drive around New Zealand in a camper van; and b) have MASSIVE sex with the original members of Bananarama. Tell us what's on your wish list, and why.

Woodwork and general creativeness
I want to be taught how to do carpentry by Norm Abram off of the New Yankee Workshop. I will then use this knowledge to make stuff for my friends and family. This will all rely on me winning the lottery, as I would like to have a full sized workshop with every tool I would need. I would also use this knowledge to make props like the guy on volpinprops.blogspot.com/

i friggin love norm.

he showed me a way with my router that i have never been more in awe of - making a box joint (like a dovetail but square) using a router and a small jig thing. Awesome. transferred to DVD for ever.

I was watching that one last night!
He did it on the bench saw with a stacked blade and the simple jig with a slot and a peg, brilliant.

Smug Mode On
I’ve just realised this very thing.

I did finish my shed and spent a week or so fitting it out with power, lights and benches. In the last couple of months I’ve been screwfixe’s best customer, and have downloaded all of the NYW (thanks Norm).

I had plenty of hand tools, but to have a place for a bench saw, mitre saw, planner / thicknesser, pillar drill etc makes previously impossible jobs a joy.

This weekend I make my first raised panel doors….

It is indescribably fantastic.
