I know Claudio, their cameramanAnd he said that they geninely couldn't have done it on those bikes without help at that time of the year. And he's hard as nails ex Swiss SAS-type regiment.
Truly I'd love to make that journey myself, too. East is one place I've never been on a bike. I've done the Arctic Circle, all of Europe and ridden to Africa and back. Russia is next on the list...

I find that interesting....and please don't take this the wrong way, but in the doco, I thought that he (Claudio) came across as quite inept and nothing like the "hard as nails" type (not that I thought the others were any harder). I do enjoy riding some really hard terrain, although I have not done it with an overloaded and already overweight bike for days and weeks on end.

ClaudioI've read their book. Ewan and Charlie admitted that actually Claudio was the best rider among them in terms of choosing the right track, especially in the hard sections of Mongolia and Road of Bones. He seems so much cooler the the "heroes".
