.haha! Stripey = warning.
I stuck my finger in the light socket once to find out if it was bayonet or the swirly one, and got a big electric shock off it.
Then when I got to the shop I couldn't remember which it was so i got both kinds of bulbs. Then, when i got home, i couldn't remember which it was so I stuck my finger in it again. What a dick.

I maintain that the system is wrong and not me.However I always go with what the instructions say and not with my instinct which is as follows.
Earth = brown (mud is brown, soil is brown, earth is brown)
Live = yellow and green (Warning signs are yellow, green things are a-live)
Neutral = blue (calming, non threatening)
