This is a question "You're doing it wrong"

Chthonic confesses: "Only last year did I discover why the lids of things in tubes have a recessed pointy bit built into them." Tell us about the facepalm moment when you realised you were doing something wrong.

When I was about 6, maybe 7 I suddenly realised...
That colour had indeed been around since the dawn of creation and not 'invented' at some point in the 1950's

Before that, I used to think that back in the 1920's and 30's everyone and everything was black and white. It was thanks to all those all old films on channel 4 in the afternoons when I was off sick from primary school.

Not true.
I confirmed it with my dad.

The world didn't actually exist until the invention of the internet. It's all just a hallucinatory matrix.

You are not the only one!
Although I think I was 7 when I figured it out...

Me too
I was brought up on black and white episodes of Flash Gordon / Buck Rogers etc...

And I used to refer to the old days as the 'black and white days' - until my dad finally explained things to me when i was about 10-11 ish.

I hadn't realised that anyone actually believed this.

You're not the only one!
I thought this too, until I was about 8! My bastard parents didn't even try and correct me, the cheeky twunts.
