ground up aluminium and rust powder (also called thermite) is what they use to weld railway tracks together.

burns so hot, that i'll burn through almost anything.

ever managed to melt a glass in half?
I did... while trying to melt chocolate in a glass in a microwave. It looked cool! I wish we still had it (it ended up smashed)

we were at a family friends house and there was a glass candle next to me. eventually the wax burned to where the flame was right next to the glass holder and it melted and broke off.
