Yes he DESERVED to be crippled for life.
What did he do? Stamp on kittens?

Did he?
THE BASTARD.

If you're going to blatantly ignore signs
Signs that are EVERYWHERE and go into water that is blatantly about 2m deep, ignore people on the news, and just be a total twat endangering other people, then yes!

You're a fucking idiot Sammi.
An absolute fucking idiot.

Yes, I'm an idiot
Because I have an OPINION.
Also, have you been on the pier in question?
www.pinballnews.com/sites/southsea2/pier.jpgIt's hardly running deep into the sea!

I think it's more an issue with the quality than the quantity.

No you're an idiot for about a million other reasons.

You're not an idiot because you have an opinion.
You're an idiot because your opinion is idiotic, see?

It's more the opinions that you have,
rather than the fact that you have any.

as much as he has no-one but himself to blame,
"deserve" doesn't come into it. It's an entirely duff concept.

I have to say
I am a bit surprised by your attitude.
Bad day?
(
WormuIus, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:04,

Actually, yes, a little bit
I normally play devil's advocate in most situations, but my cousin saw somebody tombstone, about a metre away from them in Spain, and break nearly every bone in their body. Poor lass was in shock for ages after that.

I thought this
(

so why did you find this story funny?
(
Mrs.Sp@m, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:12,

Because that was his own fault
As opposed to being nearly fallen on

Ayrton Senna's death must be in your top ten comedy moments then, right?
Or how about that time Simon Weston deliberately joined the Army and got on that ship and was burnt. What a nob, eh?

How queer.

Diddums.
Whatever allegedly happened to your cousin, doesn't make this poor bloke's injuries either funny or deserved.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA
People suffering life threatening injuries because of a silly mistake is hysterical.
(
Wicca'd Witch needs ideas for a new sig on..., Tue 13 May 2008, 13:21,

MISTAKE?
A mistake is choosing the wrong career option, or saying something totally wrong, not jumping off a pier into shallow water to see what would happen!
(
Methylene Blue - electrohead, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:26,

That's a mistake too.
(
Moon Girl Technologies horrendous beanbag, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:27,

So, if what Wicca is saying is right about sympathy
If somebody got drunk and wrapped their car round a tree, killing your brother and sister, would they deserve sympathy too?
Of course they wouldn't, you'd be furious.
(
Methylene Blue - electrohead, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:33,

That analogy doesn't even work.
You should probably just accept one of these two options:
1) You've said something very silly in this thread, and you're going to learn from it and not do it again.
2) You're a horrible, uncaring little monster who would have no qualms about laughing out loud in a burns unit.
(

Pft
I care about people a lot, and I'm very sympathetic to those who deserve it. But I have a line of morals that if you're stupid enough to do stuff like that, then it's your fault.
Also, the analogy does work. She said the person made a mistake and deserves sympathy.
(
Methylene Blue - electrohead, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:43,

people don't get sympathy for mistakes,
they get sympathy for horrific injuries.
Cretin.
(
Moon Girl Technologies horrendous beanbag, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:48,

I think that would also be very much a sad story,
and not in the least bit funny, even if followed by another story of a drunk person crashing into a tree and only killing themselves.
(
Moon Girl Technologies horrendous beanbag, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:38,

What a terrible thing to happen to your cousin!
(

The man wasn't thrown off the cliff, was he?
Nor was that man thrown from the pier. It's their fault.
It's blatant disregard for anybody, let alone themselves!
(
Methylene Blue - electrohead, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:23,

Nobody is doubting that.
The issue is with whether it is funny or not.
It isn't.
