Walking through one of the nicer ends of Bristol,
I just heard a mother say to her (approximately) 4-year-old daughter
"For goodness sake put down your hood, you don't want to be mistaken for one of those awful hoodies, do you?"
"No mummy"

...a sign of the times?

I've been to Bristol.
It was nice.
So there.

I lived there for a while.
I liked it also.

Mum used to tell me off when I was first born for having a baldy head
as she didn't want me to be mistaken for an 80s Skinhead

It could be a sign of any number of things.
A controlling parent, a parent with a phobia of hoods, a parent worried about others' phobia of hoods, a parent worried about messing up a child's hair, a parent making a joke.

The nicer end? Would that be Clifton or Snede Park?

(, Wed 27 Aug 2008, 11:29, archived)
